Canadian AI infrastructure for controlled engineering environments.

One inference control plane for software, technical-document, and engineering workflows that cannot be sent indiscriminately to global AI services. Use live Canadian-residency routes today, with dedicated sovereign hardware planned for workloads that require a tighter jurisdictional boundary.

Control the route. Keep the evidence.

Northern Inference sits between an organization and the models it approves. The model ID is the route contract. Canadian routes fail closed instead of silently leaving the selected geography.

Exact-route model access

Select the deployed model and route explicitly. API-key policy limits which privacy tiers each team can use.

Canadian-residency enforcement

Live Tier 3 routes keep the Northern Inference-controlled path and selected provider region in Canada. Provider evidence governs execution inside the provider.

Request-level custody evidence

Inspect the selected route, provider, region, jurisdiction, credential source, and data-handling posture for each request.

Drop-in integration

Use OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoints without rebuilding the application around a new proprietary interface.

Content-minimizing operation

Prompts and responses are processed in flight and are not retained by default. Operational metadata is retained. Content capture is prohibited for controlled goods and CPCSC specified information.

Dedicated Canadian infrastructure

Planned for workloads requiring additional isolation and control.

Built for practical engineering work.

The platform supports the AI access layer. Customers choose and validate models for their own technical, safety, and mission requirements.

Software and codebase analysis

Coding assistance, defect review, security analysis, documentation, and repository-scale research.

Technical-document analysis

Summarization, comparison, extraction, research, and question answering across approved technical material.

Engineering tools and agents

Model-assisted workflows that call approved tools under customer-defined access, review, and validation controls.

Current readiness, stated plainly.

Live, in-progress, and planned capabilities are labelled clearly.

Canadian industrial participation

A Canadian supplier and R&D partner.

Northern Inference can be evaluated by prime contractors as a Canadian source of AI software, engineering, operations, and planned sovereign compute capacity.

  • Canadian-owned and federally incorporated
  • Software and product R&D performed in Canada
  • Canadian operations and customer support
  • Planned capacity in Canadian data centres

Whether a purchase or investment receives Industrial and Technological Benefits credit, and the resulting Canadian Content Value, is determined under the applicable defence contract by the ITB Authority. Northern Inference does not represent itself as ITB-approved or guarantee transaction credit. Review the Government of Canada ITB program.
